Refund Policy
This Refund Policy explains how billing, cancellations, and refunds work for paid Claritar subscriptions. It forms part of our Terms & Conditions. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to this policy.
1. Try before you buy
Claritar offers a free plan so you can try how the Service works before you pay anything. The free plan has lower limits than the paid plans, but it lets you see the core workflow, scoring a draft against a saved brand voice and receiving a rewrite, so you can decide whether Claritar is right for you before subscribing.
2. Subscriptions and billing
Paid plans are billed on a recurring subscription basis (monthly or annually) as described on our Pricing page. Payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as the Merchant of Record for your purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.
3. Refunds
Because a free plan is available to try Claritar before you subscribe, subscription fees are generally non-refundable, including for partial billing periods and unused time. If you cancel, you will keep access until the end of your current billing period and will not be charged again.
We may, at our discretion, issue a refund in certain cases, for example a duplicate charge, a clear billing error, or a technical fault that prevented you from using the Service and that we were unable to resolve. Requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
4. Your statutory rights
Some consumers have rights under local law that cannot be waived, and this policy does not remove them. For consumers in the UK and the European Economic Area, the law provides a limited right to cancel a purchase of digital services. However, that right does not apply once you have started using the Service with your consent, which happens as soon as you access a paid feature after subscribing. Where a valid statutory right to a refund does apply, it is assessed and handled through Paddle as Merchant of Record.
5. How to cancel
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or through Paddle. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not automatically trigger a refund for the current period, since you keep access until that period ends.
6. How to request a refund
To request a refund, contact us at [email protected] with the email address on your account and the approximate date and amount of the charge. Refunds, where applicable, are issued to your original payment method through Paddle, and may take several business days to appear depending on your payment provider.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
